CGL Celebrates its 30th anniversary
CGL, a print management company based in Crawley became part of the Latcham Direct group during the summer of 2017 but the team is joined in celebrating the 30th anniversary of CGL that started on 23rd February 1988.
From humble beginnings, in the garage of its founder Bill Ballard, CGL has become a thriving business which continues to offer its customers exemplar customer service and a range of print solutions, working with customers across the UK including; Local Authorities, membership organisations, charities and individual giving departments amongst others.
It was originally known as Computastat and offered print management for continuous products, working with hand written index cards and no computer! However, over the past 30 years there have been big changes within the print industry and outstanding achievements along the way including the patent of Instabill – a product that converts a 24” continuous sheet of paper into an 8 page A4 brochure that has over the years hugely benefited Local Authority customers, enabling personalisation and mitigating any mismatch.
Lisa Randolph, Client Services Manager at CGL has worked for the company since 1993 and commented; “I have certainly seen a great deal of change since I joined the company 25 years ago. At that point, we were still working from a garage, passing one phone to each other when a customer called!
She continued; “It’s obviously now very different and there has been a great deal of change and advancement in technology and print, but one thing remains the same – the fiercely loyal and committed team who has helped CGL to achieve a great deal of success and as we begin a new chapter as part of Latcham Direct, we are all excited to see what the future holds and look forward to the next 30 years”.
Many congratulations to CGL and the team who continue to work extremely hard to deliver the best possible solutions and service.
