This year we decided to get into the Christmas spirit by doing what we can as a company to support those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
We asked everyone at Latcham Direct to do their bit by donating gifts to the Help Bristol’s Homeless cause, as well as gifts for the Salvation Army for children who may not have anything to open on Christmas morning.
This wonderful cause is run by Jasper Thompson, who believes that “Having a home is not an entitlement, it is a right. Everyone should have the opportunity to live in a place they can call their own”. Jasper is dedicated to changing the lives of those who find themselves homeless in Bristol; his current project is the transformation of 10 shipping containers into self-contained studio flats. As well as this, there is also a double decker bus on site providing “a bed for the night” for those who really need it. There are many ways in which you can support changing the face of homelessness in Bristol – take a look at the website here to find out how you could help.
The second cause we have chosen to support this year is the Salvation Army Christmas appeal; until mid-December Salvation Army churches across the country will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and gifts. These will be distributed to children who may not otherwise receive any presents on Christmas morning. We all rallied together and have now got a wonderful collection of new toys to donate to our local Salvation Army. For more information on how you could make a child’s Christmas morning, click here.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to make a donation this year!
